[Q]     Some programs seem to have problems when running with enable Virtual Desktop

[A]    While we are always trying to make enable Virtual Desktop run with as many programs as possible, some games and other programs will always bend the rules.  A quick fix with many fullscreen games is to hide the enable Virtual Desktop mini-window before you run the game.

[Q]    Why does Winamp not work well with enable Virtual Desktop ?

[A]    Winamp moves its own windows in a way that enable Virtual Desktop cannot easily prevent.  This will cause problems when Winamp decides to move itself back into Desk 1.  We have found the best thing to do with Winamp is to run it in Desk 1 and leave it in Desk 1.

[Q]     When I change the font for the mini-window windows, why does it only change the font in the Active window ?

[A]    The fonts for the Active and Inactive mini-window windows can be configured independently. Select the "Active Window" or "Inactive Window" item in the appearance dialog and configure the fonts for both.

[Q]     Sometimes an application window will be moved off the screen to a position that is not inside any virtual desktop.  How can I get this application back again ?

[A]    There are lots of ways to get this application back:

1.  You can use the Window Selector, select the application, using the context menu select "Move to this desk", or use the shortcut key (Break).

2.  You can select the application from the Taskbar, use the context menu and select "Maximize".

3.  You can use the enable Virtual Desktop "Collect all windows" function which will put all windows into the current desktop.

4. If the window has a rule configured with a specific desk setting, you can re-apply window rules to return it to the starting desk.

[Q]    enable Virtual Desktop seems to be using a lot of CPU.

[A]    Enable Virtual Desktop will use more CPU if you have the "Display full window contents" option turned on. If you wish to minimise CPU usage, turn this option off.

[Q]    I am unable to access the "Display full window contents" option on the Appearance tab - it is greyed out.

[A]    "Display full window contents" is not compatible with the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system in the current release, so if you are using Vista, this option will not be available to you. We are working on fixing this, and will make the option available under Vista in a future release.
